Why does my elf bar have a burnt taste?

If you’ve ever used an Elf Bar or another brand of disposable vape, you’re already aware of one of their main selling points: they taste great right out of the box. There is nothing to set up or maintain with a disposable vape. You simply puff on the device, and delicious vapor emerges. Perhaps this is why an Elf Bar that tastes burnt may come as a complete surprise. Shouldn’t a device just work if there’s nothing to configure it and the only thing you can do with it is puff on it?

Regardless of how user-friendly they are, Elf Bars can still taste burnt under certain conditions – and as you’re about to discover, one of those conditions is quite common. That’s what we’ll talk about first, and then we’ll go over some of the things you can do to make sure your Elf Bar always tastes great. Let’s get rid of that burnt-tasting Elf Bar.

Your Elf Bar may be running low on e-liquid

The most common cause of an Elf Bar tasting burnt is a lack of e-liquid. That’s very likely if your vape device worked perfectly for a day or two before the flavor quality began to deteriorate. The e-liquid in a disposable vape is typically stored in a fabric wick. The wick begins to dry out as you use the device. When the wick is nearly out of vape juice, the flavor quality of the device becomes muted; when the device is completely out of e-liquid, the wick may burn. Your Elf Bar will taste burnt at that point.

The reason you may not always notice a burnt flavor with an Elf Bar is that the battery frequently dies before the device runs out of e-liquid. A non-rechargeable Elf Bar is intended to run out of both e-liquid and battery power at the same time. When the device still has a little e-liquid left in it, the battery will occasionally die.

A rechargeable Elf Bar, on the other hand, will almost always produce a burnt flavor when the e-liquid runs out because the battery can be recharged until the wick is completely dry.

When your Elf Bar runs out of e-liquid, whether it’s rechargeable or not, it’s time to throw it away. Most standard Elf Bars provide up to 600 puffs, which is usually enough for two or three days of vaping. However, if you only vape when you would have smoked a cigarette, you will only get that much use out of the device. If you vape frequently, you’ll probably get a day or two out of each device.

There could be an air pocket in the wick of your Elf Bar

Do you have a brand-new Elf Bar that tastes burnt and has yet to provide you with a satisfying puff? In that case, it’s possible that a manufacturing flaw caused the wick to have a dry air pocket. In that case, the wick will not efficiently deliver e-liquid to the coil, and if the coil isn’t completely wet, you’ll get a burnt flavor when vaping.

If you have an Elf Bar with an air pocket in the wick, you can usually resolve the problem by tapping the device a few times on your hand. That should pop the bubble that’s causing the air pocket and allow the e-liquid to flow normally through the wick. After a few taps on the device, wait a few minutes for the e-liquid in the wick to redistribute itself before vaping again.

If your Elf Bar still tastes burnt after a few taps, you may have gotten a bad batch. Malfunctioning Elf Bars are extremely rare, but they are manufactured in millions, and faulty devices are unavoidable. It’s also critical to buy Elf Bars from a reputable vendor, such as V2 Cigs. Fake Elf Bars are extremely common, and counterfeit devices will almost certainly not meet the same high standards as genuine ones.

You may need to discontinue chain vaping.

Is your Elf Bar intermittently burnt – some puffs taste great while others don’t? In that case, you’ll almost certainly need to slow down your vaping pace. One distinction between vaping and smoking is that it is not self-limiting. When you light a cigarette, you’re committing to smoking the entire thing. Cigarettes aren’t cheap, so you won’t smoke mindlessly; instead, you’ll wait until you really want one. Vaping, on the other hand, does not work the same way; you can puff all day before the battery dies. Because vaping is not self-limiting, some people “chain vape” impulsively.

If your Elf Bar starts to taste burnt while vaping, it could be a sign that you need to slow down. At the very least, pause for several seconds after each puff to allow the e-liquid in the wick to redistribute itself. This will help to ensure that you get the best flavor every time you use your device.

Your nicotine concentration may be too high.

Elf Bars are available in very high nicotine strengths ranging up to 50 mg/ml if you live in a country that does not limit the nicotine strengths of e-liquids, such as the United States. That’s a sufficient amount of nicotine for most pack-a-day smokers, but it may be too much for you if you’re a light smoker or prefer cigarettes with lower nicotine content.

If you use an Elf Bar with a higher nicotine content than you need, you may experience throat irritation while vaping, which you may misinterpret as a burnt flavor due to the nicotine’s overwhelming throat hit. If none of the other suggestions in this article help, it’s very likely that the nicotine strength you’re using is too strong for your needs. Consider lowering your strength level.
